Kreidler Piston driven
Choice 1 Cylinder.
You can choose from the BMP 50 (Bore 40 mm), 60 cc (Bore 44 mm) or the 64 cc (Bore 44 mm and Stroke 42 mm). To use the 64 cc you will need to be in possession of a 42 mm crankshaft. In case you do not yet possess such crankshaft, you have the option to indicate at choice 4 that you would like to include a 42 mm crankshaft in your order. The 64 cc option is more expensive as it requires us to make a couple of manual adjustments. When choosing a 44 mm Bore, a small adjustment has to be made to the crankcase in order to prevent the bottom of the piston from hitting it. Another, yet less effective, option is to shorten the piston. In case you would like the latter, please indicate this in the comment section.
Choice 2 Cylinder head.
You have the option to equip a standard KT with an O-ring, to adjust the volume of the head and to leave a squishrand. This is already a significant improvement over the regular KT head. Nevertheless, the maximal result is achieved by placing the special Black Mamba Parts with extra heatsink. This CNC-milled inner head consists out of one piece which sticks out through the KT-head enabling the cooling surface of your total outer- and inner head to be enlarged by 100%. In this way, your engine will remain 15 to 20 degrees Celsius cooler than the standard KT outer head. One rule of thumb to remember is that when put under strain, every 10 degrees Celsius heat saving yields to 1 hp extra engine power when driving. Moreover, the head has the ideal compression ratio. Contrary to the standard KT head, the spark plug is situated in the middle which optimalizes the combustion.
Choice 3 Pistons.
The 50 cc Vertex pistons are equipped with a L-piston ring. Both the 50 cc and the 60ccc VHM piston have a 1 mm piston ring.
Choice 4 Crankshafts.
In case you are also in need of a decent crankshaft that is able to hold the extensive power that the BMP sets deliver, you will have the choice out of the standard 39.7 mm and 42 mm crankshafts. If you do not require one, than indicate “Geen/Kein/None”. If you opt for the 67 cc option then we will adjust your cylinder to the 42 mm crankshaft.
Choice 5 Manifolds.
The Mikuni VM20-151 fits neatly on the 20 mm manifolds by means of the accessory adapter pieces. Moreover, the original air filter will also fit well. The 30 mm manifold is specifically designed for the Mikuni VM24-512 and VM26-665. You will also have the option to order the rubber for the Mikuni VM 24, VM 26 together with the 30 mm manifold.
Choice 6 Carburetor.
In order to help you choose the size of your carbureter we have included the subjoined tool. The KTP60 and the BMP60RS will go up to 13500 revs while the KTP60 Touring and the BMP60TM will go up to 11000 revs.
Choice 7 Air filter.
Perhaps the most underestimated component of a tuning set; the air filter! No matter how fast the cylinder is that you assembled to your Kreidler, if you do not feed it it wil also not perform. It is therefore important to get as much fuel mix above the piston as possible. The most limiting factor in this process is the air; after all, you can add petrol infinitely by assembling a large jet. However, if you want optimal performance then placing a tapering in combination with a Twinair air filter is without a doubt the best option. You can indicate whether you want a tapering or not in option 8. The disadvantage of this combination is that your Kreidler will produce an enormous racing noise. The limit this noise we have original black air filters that are equipped with 2 air grommets that allow for more air to pass through. These grommets come close to the performance of the Twinair- tapering combination and decreases the induction noise. If you have the possession overy your own black original air filter, then you can also just order the 2 grommets.
Choice 8 Air Funnel.
The main function of the funnel is to optimize the air flow as efficient as possible. By doing so, more air will be able to flow through the carbureter. The bigger the flow, the bigger the size of the jet. The more mixture the cylinder gets, the bigger the power will be be. However, if you opt for driving with the original air filter then you will have to indicate “Geen/Kein/None”
Choice 9 Jets and needle.
Depending on your choices we will send you a set of 4 jets together with the appropriate needle in order for your to get a good carbureter adjustment. Always start by adjusting the biggest jet. In case you do not need any jets or needles, then you just indicate “Geen/Kein/None”.
Choice 10 Exhausts.
The KTP-series is the steel version and the BMP-series is the stainless steel version of our exhaust series. Exhausts of stainless steel do not rust and is not susceptible to heat discolouration. Possible discolouration can easily be brushed out. Stainless steel exhausts create a deeper, more beautiful sound compared to the steel version and are above all more maintainance-friendly.
The KTP60 Touring and the BMP60TM give the set its great touring character. Depending on the extent to which you shift the exhaust to forward, these exhausts generate between 10300 and 11000 revs. The piston-driven 60 cc version of the BMP cylinder reported a top speed of 105 km/h on a GPS-measured odometer.
The KTP60 and the BMP60RS are genuine sports exhausts. Do you want to get maximum power out of your Kreidler and does the revving of your Kreidler sounds like music to your ears then this is the exhaust for you! These exhausts deliver up to 3 hp more power compared to the Touring exhausts. These sports exhausts can best be driven in combination with a Mikuni VM24, VM26 or with a reed valve
Keuze 11/ Wahl 11/ Choice 11 Ontstekingen, Zündung, Ignition.
We have the choice out of three different brands of ignitions: Kokusan EVOlution, HPI and PVL. The standard Kokusan is a fine ignition that unfortunately has hardly any ignition curve. For this reason, the spark plug does not spark at the ideal moment. In order to still approach the ideal moment of ignition, you can order a Powerpox separately or in combination with a Kokusan. The rule of thumb is that a P22 is suitable for Kreidlers that generate up to 12000 revs while the P17 fits Kreidlers generating over 12000 revs. The P10, on the other hand, is more suitable for original mopeds (RM,RMCS etc.).
